Grant Recipients

At our September 10th meeting we awarded four more grants to the following recipients:

Scarsdale Foundation, Scarsdale, NY

The grant will go to their scholarship program, which provides annual needs-based stipends to Scarsdale students entering their sophomore through senior years of college.

West Point Junior Alpine Ski Team, West Point, NY
This all-volunteer team teaches skiing to children of military and civilian residents of West Point. This team receives no government funding, and the grant will fund the purchase of computer equipment for electronic scoring of races.

Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service, Scarsdale, NY
The grant will provide scholarships for eight girls to participate in The Girls Center, a ten week program which helps pre-adolescent girls express themselves with courage, strength, and confidence, as well as dealing with peer pressure

Advance Kids X-Press Enrichment Program, White Plains, NY
The grant will underwrite a section of Kids X-Press Magazine, which is written and illustrated by students from under resourced communities. The program promotes the enhancement of literacy skills and self expression.

Greenburg Nature Center

The Greenburgh Nature Center is a 33-acre nature preserve with trails, a pond and gardens. More than 70,000 visitors come to the GNC each year. The property is a significant wildlife habitat refuge, both for indigenous species and for the hundreds of species of migratory birds that use it as a resting place on their spring and fall travels.

My Sister's Place

My Sister's Place, located in White Plains, NY, provides many levels of support and protection for victims of domestic violence.

Haitian Water Projects

A Scarsdale Rotary project that supplies Haitian communities with self-sustaining water filtration systems that allow local residents to generate portable water.

Andrus Children’s Center, Yonkers, NY

ANDRUS nurtures social and emotional well-being in children and their families by delivering a broad range of vital services.

Eagle Scouts of Scarsdale

We are a small, vibrant, and fun Boy Scout troop led by long-time scouter Gordon Hamilton.  One of the distinguishing characteristics of our troop is that it is mostly scout run: the older scouts prepare and organize the troop meetings, with an eye toward advancing the younger scouts.

Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Program, Brewster, NY

Pegasus provides equine-assisted activities & therapies to more than 225 children & adults with physical, cognitive & emotional disabilities.
