Saturday, October 21st, Rotary Club of Scarsdale celebrates its 94th Anniversary with a free concert at Chat Restaurant, 1 Christie Place

We hope to see many of our residents join us to celebrate our 94 years of supporting the local, national and international charitable work and service to the community.   The concert is Saturday, October 21st 11am at Chat's outside patio and ends by 1:30pm.

The well respected professional recording artist, Felix Kellaway, is arriving from his UK home to perform at our anniversary party. Felix is at the forefront of an exciting new generation of classical guitarists.  Felix will be performing his music from the UK, Spain, and Germany along with American jazz and pop arrangements.

Scarsdale Rotary proudly and cheerfully provide financial support and services, which helps improve the lives of the many thousands of people in need that we directly reach.

Scarsdale Rotary's 10/9/17 walking tour - lunch in Harlem at the Red Rooster took on a special meaning!

Our tour guide was NYU Professor Francis Morrone PhD. Francis Morrone is an architectural historian and author of eleven books, including, with Henry Hope Reed, "The New York Public Library: The Architecture and Decoration of the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building" (W.W. Norton, 2011) and architectural guidebooks to Philadelphia and to Brooklyn.

He is the recipient of numerous awards, including NYU's Excellence in Teaching Award and the Landmarks Lion Award, the highest award for lifetime achievement in historic preservation in New York. Travel and Leisure Magazine named him one of the 13 best tour guides in the world.

We enjoyed lunch at the world famous Red Rooster Restaurant  We were accompanied by current and former members of the Scarsdale Police Dept ( including the Chief)!

It was heartwarming for members of the Harlem community to meet law enforcement in a casual, lunch type setting, as well as for Scarsdale civic and business leaders to get to know members of Harlem.

Both sides were duly impressed with one another, demonstrating how diverse backgrounds and ethnicities can co-exist in a very respectful, friendly manner.

The encounter was a great example of how our country can indeed function as one !

ounded on November 30, 1923, the Scarsdale Rotary Club has always been a busy and productive organization.  Fast
forward ninety years later and today we have 32 dedicated community leaders in government, business, and the private sector.

t our weekly business meetings, held at Moscato's restaurant every Tuesday, we typically have a guest speaker who presents an informative topic of interest to our members. These meetings not only enable us to do the good work of Rotary, but they also consistently provide fellowship and networking, and help to build solid relationships and lasting friendships.

Lunch is $22 and guests are always welcome!  Just let us know by email that you plan on attending so we can have a place set at our Moscato's lunch meeting.
